Claudio Augusto Oller do Nascimento

Dr. Claudio Augusto Oller do Nascimento is Full Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of São Paulo. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1975 and 1979) and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Salford, UK (1982). He was a researcher at EPFL- École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland (1990-1991). He has made significant contributions to the field of chemical engineering, focusing on industrial processes and performing fundamental and applied research on the following subjects: neural networks, mathematical modeling, water treatment, photochemistry and biotechnology. He serves as the Director of International Affairs of the RCGI-Research Centre for Gas Innovation (Shell-FAPESP, The São Paulo Research Foundation). He further serves as the coordinator of the INCT-EMA National Institute of Science and Technology on Environmental Studies. He was awarded the Commendation of National Order of Scientific Merit from Brazilian Government in 2007. He is member of the Academy of Science of the State of São Paulo.
