Daniel A. Marcek Jr

Manager in Hewlett-Packard Open innovation Office responsible for university research collaborations and external engagements.  Chairman of Engineering for the Americas initiative of the Organization of American States leadership, Director of ASEE’s Corporate Members Council, Member of Olin External Advisory Board, HP representative to ABET Industrial Advisory Council, and member of several academic program Boards.

Twenty years of practical engineering, primarily focused on application level product design and development for both governmental and commercial applications.  More recently, Mr. Marcek has focused his time on University Relations and the interface of HP with universities.  Mr. Marcek’s voice and vision have contributed to making Engineering for the Americas a premier project of the Office of Science & Technology of the OAS and helped move engineering capacity to the forefront of the minds of leaders in many countries of the hemisphere.  Today at HP, contributions remain varied from pursuing research collaborations to forming creative partnerships that promote engineering and advance the importance of technical human capital to economic success.
