Thomas Loughlin is a Mechanical Engineer by training, having received his BSME from Lafayette College in 1983.
These first ten years of professional practice were in several industries devoted to security locks and devices.
In 1993 he joined ASME as Director Member Services, and rose through the ranks of ASME, until he became Deputy Executive Director in 2005, later appointed as Executive Director of ASME, a position where he oversees the wide-ranging educational and technical programs of ASME, with over 120.000 members, in 120 countries, and offices in China, Europe and India.
As Executive Director of ASME Thomas Loughlin has given support to UPADI and WFEO.
